Welcome to Wakefield Housing Authority!

The Wakefield Housing Authority is an agency operated with public funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and rents paid by residents.

The GOAL of the Wakefield Housing Authority is to provide decent, safe, clean and sanitary housing to low income families, the elderly and the disabled. Wakefield Housing Authority helps to provide affordable housing and economic opportunity, and to encourage individuals to achieve maximum independence.

Housing Programs

Hart’s Hill is a state development with 116 one bedroom units of elderly/disabled housing. Lincoln School has 10 one bedroom units of elderly/ disabled housing and three units of congregate housing for 15 clients. Crystal View is our federal building with 40 one bedroom units of elderly/disabled housing. We also manage Hart’s Hill Heights, which has 22 units of supportive elderly housing.

38-40 Hart’s Hill Road is a state 689 program providing residential facilities for 9 clients of the Department of Developmental Services.

We have 41 units in the Department of Mental Health Rental Assistance (DMHRA).

Section 8-Housing Choice Vouchers provide subsidies for privately leased housing. We manage 374 HUD funded vouchers.

Our family housing consists of 8 two bedroom units funded by DHCD.

All WHA units are smoke free.
